House Morcane

Xi'Shae is a female yathrin who has recently come to the island of Elben Aator from the drow city of Eryndlyn located in the Upper Underdark below the High Moor in Western Faerun.

Xi'Shae is used to the life and treatment of a noble, as she was in her home city as a member of House Shae, a moderate power of the Houses located in the city. As the city of Eryndlyn is large and quite populated by a mixture of drow serving different gods (Lloth, Vhaeraun, and Ghaunadaur), and also not the cleanest of cities, what information Xi'Shae does reveal of her past life, she explains that her reason for leaving the city is being tired of the overcrowded and somewhat dirty city.

Of course, this isnt exactly the truth, and more of her intentions will be revealed over time.

After a long journey through the caverns beneath the surface of Elben Aator, Xi'Shae found the city of Szith. Initially, she made her way through the markets, walking among the commoners, however she soon wandered upon some of the local nobility. Speaking briefly to one with the name of Ania, she had asked about the location of the temple within the city. She hadnt made a sacrifice that day, her left hand twinged slightly as a sort of reminder, not that she needed any. Not anymore, not since she was younger. She rubbed her left hand absent-mindedly.

While the two were speaking, the Ilharess of one of the Szith noble houses, the Morcane House as she learned shortly, happened along. Xi'Shae managed to introduce herself during the exchange, though the Ilharess paid her little attention, and the Ilharess directed Ania to show Xi'Shae the temple, which she complied. After a long walkthrough of the temple that left Xi'Shae feeling a little strange, they journeyed out and took in some of the of locations of the city, and Ania left.

Alone once again, Xi'Shae new it was time to familiarize herself with the city...and to find a sacrifice of some sort.

((hehe of course that is correct. at that time of the meeting as well was before Xi'Shae had attempted to join a House, so this was their first meeting, before Xi'Shae sought out the Ilharess to try and join her House-IC join,anyway))

Quite some time later, Xi'Shae was again on her own and she had gone to the residential area in preperation of what was to come. Milling around pretending to be interested in the commoners wares she eventually took note of a commoner jaluk leaving the area into a nearby cave. She casually followed the jaluk and sure enough, he was alone, probably hunting for food or some such. After they had both traveled quite a ways from Szith, Xi'Shae still following a fair distance behind him, she managed to get the attention of the jaluk after he had killed one of the cave vermin.

"Xas, jabbress?" the jaluk had asked, standing at attention waiting for some instruction. Not too bad for a commoner jaluk, she thought. Xi'Shae felt a wonderful sensation flow through her body, as she knew what was coming. The silly jaluk just stood there, she brought her hammer up so quickly he didnt have a chance to do anything. His eyes widened just briefly before the hammer smashed into his mouth, sending a mixture of blood and teeth flying. The jalukul frail body flew backwards, collapsing onto the cavern floor. He wasnt quite dead, at least not yet.

Xi'Shae dragged the unconscious body over into the isolated portion of the cave. Using some rope she had purchased while at the market, she tied the jaluk to a rock. Placing some incense at various locations around the body of the still breathing jaluk, Xi'Shae began her prayers for the ritual. At the conclusion, she burned the body, chanting the name of her diety.

Finishing the task, she cleaned up and disposed of the ashes, and returned to Szith.

(( as has been posted in other messages about punishments and sacrificies and idea would be any of the member created a jaluk/surfacer character to punish/sacrifice them . so

Weeks had passed by, Xi'Shae was finally entrenching herself into the workings in Szith, and had at last gained entrance into a powerful noble House, House Morcane. For quite some time in the beginning she had worked around the Temple mostly, performing the various rituals required of her, slowly gaining acceptance it had seemed. Through some of the yathrin of the Temple she had been introduced here and there to some of the nobles of the different Houses; Morcane, Mori'hyanda, and Dev'Lin. Mostly she had noticed the Morcane presence, the other Houses not as much, she thought most likely they were much weaker, indeed it seemed so.

Finally gaining an audience with the great Ilharess Morcane. Xi'Shae was impressed with the aura she felt around the Ilharess. She had at other times met both the Ilharess of the other Houses, one seeming full of themselves; the other, weak and powerless. Eventually she was invited into the House, perhaps sensing her previous nobility. Of course she was grateful for that, gratetful to the Spider Queen as well.
Often these days she spent time with the Qu'el'faeruk Rizzen, enjoying his company, and the others of the House, as well as the Ilharess of course, when the great female wasnt busy with House business.

House business... Xi'Shae thought of a number of the recent notable events. She remembered meeting the jaluk Rath Mori'hyanda, an insane fool apparently with a penchant for attacking jalils. Supposedly the Ulathteller was going to help take care of that...how Xi'Shae longed to smash his head to a pulp! She managed to mostly keep the dark thoughts hid within her, her outward persona seemed to be more caring, less cruel, hiding the darkness and hatred, to an extent...Hmm...the Mori'hyanda. Not only was the jaluk Rath a problem in that House, others as well. The previous evening, in the company of the Ilharess, they had encountered another of the Mori'hyanda jaluken, Lomir or some such. Impudent and arrogant, Xi'Shae swore to herself he would learn to give the Ilharess and yathrin of the House their due respect, or else... but she'd heard that had been taken care of in some measure. And another of House Mori'hyanda, "Maya", was that what they had called her? Xi'Shae's nails dug into her own hand so tightly it drew blood when she thought of the loud mouthed, disrespectful jalil. She seethed with rage thinking of her disrespect to the Ilharess, such an annoyance...how I long to...terrible thoughts of revenge tore through her, the darkness within momentarily consuming her. She would see that the Ilharess got her due respect...or else...

Ilharess had also commanded her to punish one of the Morcane House for a transgression, to which of course Xi'Shae obliged, actually enjoying it somewhat. Couldnt feel sorry for the dalninil. Pity is for the weak. And Lolth consumes the weak.

Xi'Shae was also somewhat lonely for a companion...she pushed the thought aside. Lolth cared not for such triviality.
