It'iae's birth had been answered with a quick and easy conclusion for everybody present and concerned: he would never grow up to live among the few worthy jalukul. Whether this was due to his ongoing whimpering or the general fragile and slim appearance he kept remains mysterious.
Whatever the reasons may have been, a decision any surfacer would consider more than sensible had to be made; though as drow customs go, sensible decisions tend to go hand in hand with cruel ambitions.
Would It'iae die a horrible death? According to the Priests he would have been an insult rather than an honour to Lolth, and therefore his becoming a sacrifice was out of question. A few scars and short debates lead to a ripe solution: he would be sent to the Sorcerie and abused as a vital subject for tests.
Once her arrived at the Sorcerie, a long period of torment and suffering was waiting for him, drooling and gazing like a manically bloodthirsty beast. Though he was still unaware of his doom.
That however changed soon, for there was no mercy even for the youngest.
The details of his years at the Sorcerie shall not be mentioned here, but as far as grim goes they could have competed well with most things one may dare to imagine.
At an uncertain time during those "dark years" fortune may have been touched by It'iae's story just a bit: The Sorcerie student Auwentitia witnessed It'iae's unyielding strength and endurance. It seemed like life had plans with him contradicting with whatever
the Priests first predicted.
Auwentitia's request to obtain It'iae as a slave were answered with validation, and she then started to cultivate It'iae into a loyal servant who, in time, happened to turn out very strong and reliable. As promising as this may sound, there was also a downside to it: He always struggled
to accept any authority other than Auwentitia's, and this trait got him into trouble numerous times. Since It'iae had been exposed to a lot of pain since his birth, the punishments he often had to receive have always been more of a treat for him.
Auwentitia and her fellow faerns granted It'iae intensive and promising combat training, with the focus cast on making him a quiet, unnoticed, deadly fighter of the shadows. He learned to take advantage of being hidden, ever so often surprising his victims like a deadly viper and most of the time being just as, if not even more effective.
It'iae learned how to maintain his composure in social situations, though once his faerns decide to loosen his chains he will do his best to act as an unstoppable opponent who never falters until he dies.
