Naraviel has spent much of her life a far distance from Szith. She fled the city she was living in after a botched assassination, following the code of "it is better to escape or die than to be caught and interrogated". Apparently the one who gave her the orders was seeking to remove her as a rival, and her mark knew she was coming. After fleeing she emerged from the Underdark somewhere east of Waterdeep. She ventured into the city disguised as a merchant and borded the first vessel she could find, which happened to land in <insert>. Here in Szith she seeks to start out fresh, and succeed where she has failed in the past. Shortly after her arrival in Szith she met Nawen, whom she has taken a great liking to, and has been watching House Morcane ever since.

Naraviel tends to be much more devout than many not yath females. She finds every kill as an opportunity to please the spider queen, something she lives for. When not lurking around the corner she spends much of her time in meditation, where she will go many days without speaking or eating. She refuses to use any blade but the dagger, as Lolth's favored weapon. Naraviel is very tight lipped and it can be difficult to get her to speak about anything. She is reluctant to share personal information and it will be difficult to get much of anything out of her. The task at hand is all that is important to her, once she has been set in motion there is no stopping her. On patrols she is the one to sneak off into the shadows after more prey while everyone else catches their breath. As a consequence, it is common for her to shrug off potentially life threatening wounds. Others typically have to hold her down to administer triage.

She tends to be obedient to a fault. To her, the Yath are true voices of Lolth, in contrast to those who only behave around them because of their station and potential consequences for defiance. It is common for her to carry out orders that she may strongly disagree with. Her attitudes towards males is that of "shall be seen and not heard". She has no interest in flogging them for stepping out of line but will always remind them of their place. The daggers she uses in combat are different from the one she uses for killing marks. The dagger she uses in her kills she considers to be "holy" and will not use it to kill anything "unworthy". No other -living- person has ever seen this blade. As a typical assassin, she is covered from head to foot with hidden niches in her armor where weapons may, or may not, be hidden.

OOC: Hope to see more of you in game soon, I may turn this thread into a journal at some point, depending on how interesting things get.

Rad has tagged along with Naraviel quite a few times, and I can't imagine anyone objecting to her, so I'll go ahead and let her in the house OOC.

You've spoken Nawen already I think, so if she's sponsoring you then you just need to meet with Drenn or Xi'Shae. Some other priestess will also do if you can't find those two on soon enough.

Again I am troubled by situation with the jaluk known as "Rad". The little thing follows me wherever I go, and I cannot bring myself to send him away. Trouble seems to follow him, which puts me in a bad situation. I am unable to discretely observe the populace of Szith with that clumsy fool at my heels.

He confuses me greatly, as he cannot be more than 14 years of age, and has no apparent family ties. Despite this he is absolutely terrified of jalil, rightfully so, for they seem to torment him to no end. I must admit that seeing him in battle is quite remarkable. He has an odd habit of removing the legs of the cave beetles instead of just killing them, something I cannot quite understand. Perhaps he should become a bard, for I cannot quite seem to close his mouth.

This cycle has been troubling as I was forced to beat Rad quite harshly to please the Ulathtallar. I have a deep respect for her so I would not disobey, but beating the jaluk is not something I would normally do. I believe I hurt him quite badly, as I struck him with my ring on my hand. The wounds were deep. After several blows Ilharess Dev'lin was about to kill him, but was persuaded to let him live. I cleaned the jaluk up as ordered and was surprised to see that he still does not mistrust me, even after such a brutal beating. I am in an odd situation indeed, surely I am not deserving of his trust. He may soon regret it.

I spoke with Nawen again this evening in the massage parlor. I shall not commit the topic of conversation to paper as it may compromise my position, or, potential position. Suffice to say, jabress Nawen has my trust, something that bothers me at times.

Aly "oh so wishes" to meet this dalninil... perhaps to test her faith in Lolth or just to torment her... who knows.

Nawen is careful to not to sponsor just anyone for membership in house Morcane. Not long after she met Naraviel, she knew the jalil had potential and her feelings about Naraviel, she believes, are not mistaken considering the amount of heretics to Lolth that have come from the house.

Also, Nawen is looking for someone with similar skills to herself who can be active in house affairs or take on jobs or other tasks requiring stealth and such. She is looking forward to working with Naraviel and hopes to see more of her and from her than she has seen from other rogues and assasins in the house.

I have just recently been accepted into house Morcane. I must admit I am surprised at the expediency of the whole ordeal but the end result was certainly to my liking. I intend to set an example for all shebali seeking acceptance into the nobility. It has come to my attention that recent events in the house have resulted in the departure of several jalil. This is troubling. My affiliation with House Morcane shall remain secret for the time being, as I have come to the realization that shebali are woefully underestimated.

Jabress Sonia was attacked recently in the caverns just outside Szith. I identified one attacker as Rath, formerly of House Mori'hyanda. The second attacked was well disguised, but lacked proper jalil mannerisms. The information was brought to Jabress Nawen and the Ulathtallar, who ressurected Jabress Sonia. I will visit such terrible pain upon this "Rath" for harming dalninil Sonia.

The other attacker has been identified as Ivy Kor'ali. This revelation comes from information gained from the black dragon Eyruuad whom I am somewhat uncomfortable to be around. His lingering eyes are unwelcome. Ivy and Rath are both denziens of some lower planes master or mistress...more heretics.

My interest in the surface traitors continues to grow. Through various observations I have seen the fragile facade they have disguised themselves with. Traitors or not, the children of Lolth may never cast aside their chaotic nature. I have a feeling that the other kivven will soon realize this and attempt to remove them. The relationship the lunar temple has with its neighbors will deteriorate quickly. How foolish they are to deny their nature. I intend to pay a visit to this Lunar Temple so that I may witness their ill fated attempts at a peaceful life with my own eyes.

I especially want to speak to this... "Aly'ffyn" whom I have heard so much about...

I met with Aly'Ffyn in Q'os, the generally accepted conclusions on this one seem to be quite off the mark. I am not sure of her motives but I do however know she is not my enemy. I look forward to seeing this one again soon, she interests me greatly. As for what I have learned, the information is far too delicate to be passed on.

For now I shall leave the surface heretics alone. Much more potentially threatening information has come to me through Aly'Ffyn. I must make contact with my eyes and ears as soon as possible.

The little urchin Rad is now working for Radra, perhaps I can now have some peace and quiet. Now I know that one will not live to reach 50.

Rad couldn't believe his good fortune. I'm working for jabbress Radra! , he thought. She gave me another gold coin! Rad smiled and reached into his inner pocket, grinning all the wider as his fingers touched the cool metal. He quickly straightened and glanced around for the umpteenth time to make sure no one was watching him. As usual, nobody was. Street urchins don't get much attention. Rand gathered his tattered cloak and began walking in the direction of his favorite alley with a bit more spring in his step than usual.

Rad could not recall the last time he'd felt this safe or appreciated. Naraviel would engage him in conversation and let him tail her, but she sometimes seemed bored or annoyed and would snub him. Rad sniffed. Females. At least she's promised to help me hunt dragons. Working for Radra would not be easy, he knew. It would take a lot of skill and a bit of luck to get what she wanted. But the pay was good enough to risk it, and it's not like he could refuse her anyway. He shivered at the thought of her aiming her bow at him again, and what she'd done to those goblins....silly creatures never had a chance.

Absentmindedly, Rad pulled out his goblin bladder kick-ball. It was pretty worn for only a month of use. Noticing it in his hands, Rad paused. He like kicking things. Rad set about doing some moves right there on the side of his street. After five minutes, he stopped and looked around to notice a goblin thrall glancing his way as he passed with his burden. Rad stuck out his tongue and made an obscene gesture as the creature plodded on. Fool probably doesn't even know what a bladder is, he snickered.

His thoughts turned back to Radra and what she'd asked of Naraviel. "See that he's kept alive and naut harmed permanently in my absence". A female wanted him alive! This was something to marvel about. The few times they deigned to speak to him had generally involved barked orders to get out of the way or face a quick, occasionally not-so-quick death. All too often, much of the conversation involved hissing whips. Rad closed his eyes to push away the thought.
