Fargol sat in a dark tunnel alone stripped of his armor. He was admiring the leathery scales of his arms and legs. His infernal master had promised him rewards for the services he had offered him and he had kept his promise. Fargol had expected as much since he was pretty confident the master was a devil and not a demon, demons were rumored to be highly unreliable, but not so with devils.
He still longed to get his hands on his grandmother who had bargained with the master and sold all living males of the family, if she still lived somewhere. The most likely explanation for the infernal blood in his veins was that his grandmother had gone so far as to mate with the devil. For some reason his mother was unaffected by the infernal blood, but his brother and himself felt it, it was as if the blood only manifested itself in males. His brother had died because of it. No wonder their house was brought to ruin once the secret was revealed, dealing with a devil in a Llothian society was suicide....at least for any that is caught. Their flight from the mainland had brought them to Elben Aator and Sizth. Going from a minor noble house to living in the slums was not possible for his mother; she died within a year of arriving. Children on the other hand adjust to the circumstances and Fargol adjusted.
He trained with the blade and used the powers of the blood to gain an edge in combat. For some reason he had only been confronted with the ability to channel divine magic as a male a handful of times and each time the females had decided from the get-go that it was a blessing from Lloth. Fargol knew otherwise but kept silent. He used the advantage to become a respected fighter in Sizth.
He had tried to build favor with the different houses and had even been offered membership quite a number of times. He had declined on the basis of being a lowly soldier, but in reality he feared they would learn of his taint or the dealing he had with the infernal master. He had decided a life as a soldier was not a bad one; no one cared too much about a simple soldier.
As he grew in power he grew tired of being below everyone and not being able to influence the politics of Sizth. Sitting on the rock admiring the gifts from his master he had made his decision. He would try to become a member of a house, he would rather die a noble than live a slave. If anyone found out he would have to deal with it somehow....no one knew in all of Sizth, except the Rothe Lara. He trusted her for some odd reason...So better try to join her house so she would not be used against him.
Nodding to himself he strapped on his armor and picked up his blade. He would try to become a Morcane, the second house held the most for him and he knew quite a few nobles from that house. If they declined him they were fools, nobles but fools none the less.

((After spending along time learning the server I decided it would be a good time to finally join a house. So this is my official application for joining house Morcane.

PostPosted: Thu May 29, 2008 6:49 am    Post subject: Failure Reply with quote

Failure always left a sour taste in Fargoth's mouth. But this time it was deliberate, he would not be bedding any noble. What had been an innocent encounter with Yathrin Saya in the caves turned real ugly. They had chatted about the rivvil near Qo's and in his excitement he had offered to kill one in her name. Seemed an innocent enough gesture and one he would enjoy performing. But the damn shebali ordered him to come to her room and not overdressed when he had bleed a rivvil for her. She might have seen the shock on his face, but he tried to cover it with a salute....damn soldier training, that wasent proper etiquette for a noble. But the shock left him with only instints and he could either strike out or salute. So while he stood there like a dumb soldier she laughed a little. Good thing she dident comment on it further.

For most jaluk it would have been an honor no doubt, but Fargoth knew full well what happened if he removed his protective armor. The armor protected not just against blows, but against prying eyes. The thick leathey hide coverring most of his body would be seen by the noble and the concequences would be hard to fanthom. She might ignore it, she migt use it against him and worst of all she might announce it to the house. Fargoth could vividly imagen being strung up and tortured for days on end before he would get the sweet embrace of death and finally meet his master.
No, he decided to fail this mission and if she asked about it he would be humble. Surviving was the most important thing, that and pleasing the master. Growing up in the slum he was used to being humble and he had not grown so noble he would not bow if it meant his life.

On the same note he hoped that Koll had forgotten their little convercation. He had inquired to te origen of his powers and he couldent tell him of course so he answered elusive as always. The young jaluk did not just write it of as Lloth and kept proddig Fargoth. He even suggested he turn over som blood to Rizzen to be examined and help him understand better where the powers came from. He knew full that the origin of th powers were not something he wanted to share with the house wizard. Nau, he noded and told the young Koll he would but rejected the idea as soon as he heard it.

He would have to kill someone soon. All this secrecy was excatly why he had stayed out of a house for so long, he had been offered entrance to the others houses on numerous occations but he dident want the trouble. Well, there was no backing down now, he decided to throw himself into the mix so now he had to follow through.

A small list of jobs to do might help keep his mind off the potential trouble:
1. Protect Aly'Ffyn from outside problems. She seemed a very charesmatic young jabbress. He had to be carefull not to be seduced though, her fair voice and looks could bring a warrior to his knees. But he knew any such encounter might cost him his life and that was not worth it. He had a woman in the parlor he paid for her services and thrice that for her silence. He could also kill her if she became a problem, not a solution for a noble.
2. Involve himself with Rizzen. Rizzen seemed the most powerful Jaluk in the house or possible Ceil. He needed to figure out the "power ladder" of the jalukul in the house. If he wanted to climb it he had to know who to use as leverage to get to the upper part. Though Rizzen was not one to ever challenge, he had abilities that Fargoth could never offer the house....and Ceil had family in the house, female family. Nau, those were not to be stepped on, but others perhaps
3. Prove himself. Most of the younger jaluk and jabbress had never seen him in battle and treated him as little more than a servant. They had not seen him fight for Sizth and gave him no respect. Perhaps that was what he liked about Aly, she seemed to respect him. Her and a few others like Nawen.

He would have to get involved in the house politics before he decided on the next course of actions. But the three small points would keep his mind occupied for a while

Forgoth hurried back to his noble quarters with what felt like a very heavy magical bag at his side. He knew full well that if he was stopped with the bag he might have a problem. He couldnt help but smile when he thought back on the events;

He had meet his contact and they had discussed recent events the contact had witnessed. He knew full well how greedy the contact was and that it would cost him. This time though the contact asked for some information in return, Fargoth would not normally give out information about drow poitics, but the recent hostilities in Sizth had made him annoyed so he told the contact what he wanted to know. He also started on the water genasi that was the newest prize of Mori, one they had first given to Aly and then taken back. That had also annoyed him to no end, giving a rothe and taking it back. He was sure the Mori's had done it to spite house Morcane. Besides he liked Aly and strongly disliked when anyone made her upset or stole from her.
The contact and his less sensible elven friend, which he never spoke to or even let him see his face, were trying to rescue the rothe. He offered good information in return and even favors of some importance in return. Fargoth was torn, stealing one of the Moris favorite Rothes was no small undertaking, but it would give him an oppertunity to get back at them and at the same time bind stronger ties to the contact. The house needed what contacts they could get in these times of unrest in Sizth. Fargoth told the informant he would get the job done, though how he was not quite sure.

As if his infernal master had a finger in it he stumbled upon a lowly jaluk. But not just any jaluk, when he started talking to the jaluk it seemed that this particular jaluk had been ordered to excersize the mori's rothe in the caves before. Fargoth saw an opportunity and siezed it. He kept up the small talk and started asking interested about the rothe, saying how he never actually saw it fight, but would love to. After a bit of convincing and promising he would make sure the rothe (and the jaluk himself) was not harmed during the demonstration he had him persuaded. The jaluk would like for Fargoth to ask the Mori to lend them the rothe, but he explained that the first house strongly disliked him and that would not serve them. In the end the jaluk agreed to fetch the rothe and demonstrate her abilities in the tunnels, even though he kept complaining he might get in trouble since the Moris did not like him. Fagoth smiled and assured him it would be perfectly okay.
They traveled back to Sizth and the Jaluk went back to the city first. Fargoth knew full well what could happen if a Morcane was spotted having anything to do with them so he changed equipment. He had gotten a fulface helmet, another armor, shield, weapon and cloak. He even removed his very trusty boots. After he admired his reflection in a puddle of water. He no longer looked like the noble he had become, but a random soldier Jaulk. He went into Sizth and found the jaluk again. He kept his distance and could see the jaluk was a bit uncertain of how and what to do but in the end he went to the rothe and ordered her to follow. The guards dident seem to object, the rothe must have been behaving since she had her equipment, even her weapon. Besides this jaluk had already taken her to the caves once before for some training. The guards shrugged and dident ask any questions even when a figure clad in steel from head to bottom fell in with the two.
Fargoth was beginnig to become very nervous at this point and was looking over the shoulder as they left Sizth. If anyone tried to stop them he would cut them in half and hope they never caught up. Nothing would be worse than getting caught now. As much as he looked back noone followed and the trio made their way into the tunnels. All the way to the bugbears where he had announced he would observe the rothe. He asked the jaluk to check a door for traps and when he stepped forward Fargoth swung his sword at him and nearly cleaved him in two from the violent blow. The jaluk fell and was dead before he hit the floor. He hated killing jalukul who like himself were struggling to make a name for themselves, but he could not let him stand in the way of the house. The rothe remained calm and he admired her training in such a short time for a second before he grabbed her and yelled "now we make haste, theres someone you must meet". Fearful of what witchcraft could have been placed in the burn from Amenia Mori he put a Scarf around her forhead to cover the burn and then they ran.
Fargoth looked over his shoulder and killed with an efficiency he had seldom used. It all seemed perfect untill they came to the Gorbogs, there they ran into another noble. The noble was of house Dev'lin but dident give them a second glance. Fargoth was still worried but certain the disguise had worked well, noone would be able to recognize him. They keot running and made it all the way to the stone brutes. Before making the last push to Qo's he asked for the rothes hand. She obeyed without hesitation and Fargoth took her pinky and sliced it clean of. She let out a small scream of surprise and pain, but he cast regenerate on her so she would be healed when the "saviours" got their hands on her. He told her in drow, which he had learned she understood some of, "Remember when you look back on this, that he who has your pinky saved your life". He didnt wait for her response put pushed onwards.
They meet up with the contact and the silly elf, the former-rothe and the elf got all misty eyes in front of them. Weak, he always knew paleskins were weak! He pointed at Lorccan and gave him a quick nod before pushing on. He wouldnt want to get caught red-handed with the paleskins.

He knew that the cntact was able to rat him out, but such sacrifices are made for the house. He in turn would know that house Morcane was those that paid the best price for his information and help. The elf never saw him or heard him talk, he only saw him in disguise. In Sizth he knew several had seen him in disguise, such as the pest Sonya. But he knew they also saw the jaluk taking the rothe out so in the end it would be his problem. The jaluk was never given his name, but might be able to recognize him...but he was just a lowly jaluk and besides he would only remembering taking out the rothe and him. Then the world went black for him, and that was if anyone found him and raised him.
No, the disguise and the pinky had to be hidden so he wasent wearing them anymore.

Fargoth grinned to himself and wondered if this was the kinds of games the nobles played at or it was simply he was from the slum and willing to risk his life, he had done so often enough. Well, he would have to tell someone from the house, but only one. Couldnt have any informant overhear it and tell the Moris, that would make the situation a bit harder on them all.

P.S. dont have time to make it sound better. Just wanted people to know what had happened and how so what you see up there will have to surfice

Fargoth had been amusing himself stalking members of the fourth house recently. Following them into the runnels with weapons drawn seemed to scare most of them, more often that not they would return to Sizth instead of patrolling. It was good, it was a reminder who was the second house and who was the fourth, he had a feeling they needed reminding.

Fargoth also meet with his contact in Qo's and debated the problems with the fourth house and their quickling allies. They dident reach any final desition as Fargoth would have to ask a Yathrin before making any such. But in a strange turn of events the contact offered him to buy an elf for gold. The same elf that had been very verbal about saving Talie and the one that the contact had even helped get her hands on Talie.
The betrayel of his friend was very pleasing to Fargoth and he could not help smile. They agreed on a price and the contact gave him one very drunk elf. A Mori slave also came to the inn while they were discussing the price and started talking to the soon-to-be-rothe. Luckily there was no problems and in the end Fargoth was leading the drunk elf by the hand towards the tunnels.

At first she followed freely, but once they entered the underdark there was a bit of trouble. She was becomming very tired and Fargoth thought it wise to let her sleep and then bind her. So he helped her down and tries to hum her to sleep. Unfortunatly she regained some of her wit and in a turn of events recognised him as being a drow through the drunken stupor. So he had to jump her and bind her. In the beginning she struggled and Fargoth feared she might make enough noise to bring curious surfacers from Qo's to the tunnel. So he told her he would have to capture Talie and make her a slave unless she stopped struggling. That had the desired effect and he got her bound tightly.
After that they headed to Sizth without any trouble. The meet a couple of unhoused drows at the bugbear, but they only stopped to chat for a short while. Fargoth was anxious to return to Sizth and present the gift for jabbress Aly'Ffyn whom had lost her last pet to the ust house. Besides he thought that the new pet was kinda cute even if her skin was the color of pale goat droppings. She was willfull and easy on the eye so he hoped that Aly'Ffyn might treat her nicely and that she would not have to suffer more than her training dictated.

When they arrived in Sizth he presented Aly with her gift and she liked the gift right from the start. She played with it (read: beat) for some time. The rothe even tried to harm them with some strange spell, but that only earnt her some more play time. In the end their attempts at binding her to Aly failed which pleased Fargoth immensly, it only meant they had a strong rothe once they broke her in. He would make a point of talking to her and make sure her guards did not abuse her in any way, nau she was not a common rothe. Perhaps in time he might even use her against...nau, such thoughts only lead to misery, killing another noble woudl not do....at least not yet, not untill his master asked it of him.

Things were going well once again. Fargoth had succefully mediated the release of Nikolia. In a strange turn of events his contact had wanted to buy back the same elf he sold in the first place. Fargoth told jabbress Aly'Ffyn as much and during a meeting with the contact they agreed on a price. Appereantly the contact had also helped someone who at one point attacked Aly. After the meeting Fargoth offered Aly the head of the contact since he had offended her, but she declined...untill he was of no more use to the house.

Fargoth had also started some work with Bed'wa. There was little love lost between Bed'wa and another jaluk of the house, but Fargoth cared not. He had still enrolled him and payed for his services. He would pay alot more to get information that the house could potentially gain from and he cared little about what problems another jaluk had with him. Already he had seen some very good evidence against another house in his posession so he was sure it would be worth the trouble to work with the Bed'wa.

Fargoth full well knew that his recent happiness was due to a battle he was in recently. He was patroling the outskirts of Qo's to ensure no drow were being attacked by surfacers as he had seen a few times. During the patrol he stumbled upon five paleskins hunting the frost giants. He wasnted to tell them that they were not allowed into the underdark, but were welcome to kill the giants as they were no ally of Sizth. He recognised the blue genasi that was formerly the slave of house Mori. He only just opened his mouth when two of the rivvil started threatning him. Fargoth became a little confused, but asked the blue one if they wanted to fight. Before any answer was forth comming they started a countdown. Not one to back down Fargoth mentally prepared for the battle without causing further provocation by using magic.
One of the rivvil charged him and tried to use destruction on him, which was very foolish. He was resistent to magic, being drow and besides he always had a deathward on himself. At the same time one of the Rivvil charged him and knocked his sword out of his hand. The rivvil even had the nerve to steal the weapon from the ground.

Facing 5 opponents with no weapon was not excatly what he had in mind, but he was not going to give them the pleasure of seeing a drow running, nobles did not run from rivvil scum. So he started punching them with his armored fist. At first he had to use healing magic a few times since they were still connecting with a few hits. But as his mailed fist brought them down two of them things were looking up, noone of them had the skill with a blade to reliably hit him. The battle dragged on for a few minnutes as Fargoth only had his mailed fist for a weapon and the rivvil were not able to hit him. In the end all five paleskins were left on the ground dead or unconcious. Fargoth grinned as he retrieved his adamantane scimitar from the surfacer that stole it. Then he piled the bodies up and cut a pinky from each of them. Would be good with a little remiender if they should be saved by some passerby, if one attacks a soldier of Morcane one should be ready to bleed.
With a big smile he left the rotting pile of bodies and returned to his patrol (gave OOC raise to all 5).

Such encounters made being a male worth it all. The blood and glory all in the name of the house. How he lived for such moments, where gender, servitude and belief counted for nothing..it stripped a man and revealed his true worth to the world. Fargoth knew he was worth alot and now the paleskins also knew. Yes, it was a good day indeed.

Fargoth was nodding to himself as he purchased the small black tome and the magical pen, one that would not run out of ink. This would be a powerful weapon, one that would make sure jabbress once again were feared individuals, somewhere along the political debate in Sizth the tone had gone soft and most jabbress accepted it. Even Fargoth had enjoyed it and been pleased with the soft spoken Aly'Ffyn and lenient Nawen.

Fargoth always remembered his place and he enjoyed the relative calm the lenient jabbress brought. No, that was not to be accepted unless the jaluk shown mercy was capable of honoring such responsibility, and most were not. Fargoth had seen far too many Jaluk disrespect the females on many an occasion. He dident mind what they said in private, but appearances had to be kept, respect had to be given in public. What the jaluk said in the privacy of the dungeons were of little concern.
Often he had offered to punish an offending jaluk or rivvil when they did not offer the proper respect. He had recently seen rivvil attack jabbress in the underdark caves...the underdark! No, that would not do. He was attacked by rivvil quite close to Qo's, which he didnt mind, but it could have been a jabbress, that was something he would mind.

Fargoth decided that he would start recording the names of those that offended the females of the house. Such individuals might be offered leniency by the jabbress, but Fargoth knew they needed a soldiers discipline. He would find them in the tunnels, in Qo's, in the tavern, in the massage parlor, anywhere he could get a hold of them, out of sight. Then he would beat respect into them. He would bloody his fist until they learned respect and proper etiquette. He would teach them to bow or he would break their backs.

Yes, those he could not touch because they were valuable to the house such as Lorccan he would note in his book and beat them bloody once they were of no more use. He would have to accept some disrespect to further the house, but he would record their names and he would not forget.

They would have to become more lawful. That was the wish of the master and this was the perfect way to imbue them with a bit of respect for the rules and etiquette. His master would be pleased

Hello everybody,

I would like to buy 5 Octane render licences for my studio.
My question might be stupid but I will receive 5 CDs support or one CD with 5 licences... or the order is only online?

Thanks a lot.
