I've been hearing news about Dev'Lins attacking Morcanes onsight! What is going on??! The RP event is being PUT ON HOLD by DM Saldo for the time being to further investigate. Why are the Dev'Lins continuing and randomly attacking other Morcanes members that were not involved?!

According to the TFR forum, DM Ilsensine said the event is rolling, WHAT EXACTLY does that mean? Does that mean the assassination failed, she escaped?

Are we at WAR?! For the time being, I will attack any Dev'Lin that goes hostile on me (or randonly attacks me). I suggest every Morcanes members be on your toes.. don't trust any Dev'Lin, Ko'rali, or Mori'hyanda because they might all be in it all to oust the Morcane's House.

We should hold a meeting ASAP in the house.

I have not gotten permission back from Mysh to whether or not post what happened last night during our RP, but I like to keep everyone inform and not point the finger on anyone.. Here is how it happened (I'm copying and pasting what my sister -Cain.. wrote to DM Saldo):

Ok, I was told to PM you about what went on for that particular event. It's a long story so here goes.

First of all, Cain is Keira Morcane's rothe. He doesn't speak much (basically a mute around Keira and other Morcanes). Hence, he doesn't know all the details about the grand scheme and significance of this assassination. He was told to come along for a mission: attempt assassination of Ashi'ana Dev'Lin (lvl 30). There was going to be four of us: Rizzen Morcane (lvl 30), Nawen Morcane (lvl 19), Keira Morcane (lvl 25), and Cain (lvl 28

At first, only three of us was going to fight her: Nawen, Keira, and Cain. Rizzen was just going to buff us and stand aside (invisible/ethereal) to watch. We thought four of us vs. Ashi'ana was an overkill (even though she was lvl 30). I was told by Rizzen that he had PM her and she agreed to fight against three of us (Nawen, Keira, and Cain). Thus, we set up a meeting in Q'os.

(What happened)
When we got to Q'os, we met up with Ashi'ana inside the inn. Keira was making small talk with Ashi'ana. Keira was going to make it look like she wanted to train more and wanted a 'sparring' session against Ashi'ana. That way, Keira could learn a thing or two from a Yarthin. Since Nawen was there, he asked to join the 'sparring' too to learn. Also, Keira asked Ashi'ana if it was ok for Cain to participate because Cain was the rothe and Keira's protector. In the end, she agreed.

(1st attempt)
While we were talking, Cain's spells were wearing off. Ashi'ana was midway done with buffing. Thus, Keira told Cain to rest to rebuff, which Cain did. While Cain was rebuffing (barely started again), Ashi'ana started attacking. The fight did not last long. Ashi'ana slaughtered all three (Nawen, Keira, and Cain). A few OOC comments about Cain was still preparing and the group wasn't ready. Keira asked for a 2nd trial since the Morcane group wasn't ready. Ashi'ana agreed. She ran outside the inn to rest and rebuff. The Morcanes stayed inside to rest and rebuffed.

(2nd attempt)
So Ashi'ana came back into the inn. The battle started again. Cain was the first to fall. Ashi'ana had a hard time killing Nawen and Keira due to their HIPS. Ashi'ana did not have spot or listen so she couldn't hit them until they attack first. After 3 minutes or so, another Dev'Lin appeared out of nowhere and killed Nawen. That other Dev'Lin was Rizard Dev'Lin. He also had HIPS. This was when Rizzen stepped in and casted Disjunction on Ashi'ana. He was asking why???? and where???? did Rizard come from? The battle ensued and Rizard killed Rizzen. Only Keira was left, and she was fully buffed and her health was still full.

The battle dragged on like cat and mouse. Ashi'ana summoned an Elder Water Elemental to help... but that didn't do much. Keira killed Rizard. Ashi'ana resurrected him. Keira raised Cain... and he mass heal before he was killed again. Keira kept HIPS, hit Ashi'ana, HIPS, and run around the area. This went on for a long time. Keira raised Cain a second time. Cain was able to go ethereal this time. This was when Ashi'ana ran outside of the inn (I believe her spells finally wearing off). Keira ran after Ashi'ana. Rizard showed himself. Cain attacked Rizard. Rizard went HIPS and remained that way. Then, Cain raised Rizzen and Nawen and we ran after Keira and Ashi'ana.

When we got outside the inn, Keira yelled for us to follow her. They were running towards the portal room in Q'os. Apparently, Keira had badly wounded Ashi'ana. Cain was able to make it inside the portal room. Cain saw Keira attacking Ashi'ana and Ashi'ana was attempting to rebuff. They were no where near the portal. Cain attempted to cast Storm of Vengeance and charged at Ashi'ana. This was when the server crashed.

(My Opinion on this matter)
1. If this was an agreed 'sparring' session, why and where did Rizard come up from? Ashi'ana said she saw him outside of the inn when she ran out to rest and invited him to join her. THAT IS METAGAMING. No one was supposed to know about it... the 'sparring' session was supposed to be between Ashi'ana and Nawen, Keira, and Cain. Rizzen joined in because Rizard showed up and killed Nawen. Rizard didn't even let any of us know.

2. Yes the 2nd battle took a long time. In RP term, it was supposed to be setup for a friendly meeting and betrayal/attempt assassination. If the battle dragged on, that was part of it. You don't get to 'stop' the battle just because your spells wearing off. You can attempt to run away, which Ashi'ana did and everyone chased after her. But instead of running straight to the portal, Ashi'ana rested and rebuffed.

3. After the server crashed, Ashi'ana refused to come back to Q'os to finish it up. She said "she successful ported to Mas'Zhara Mori'hyanda". That was not true! In that portal room, Ashi'ana was halfway across the portal trying to buff up. Keira was already attacking her and breaking her concentration, causing her spells to fail. Cain was charging in. Ashi'ana did not attempt to go for the portal. After the server crashed, she said she ported away already.

FYI: Keira has Epic Precision. You can not be immune to her sneak attacks. Keira's sneak attacks were doing on average 35 damage to Ashi'ana (because of stone body) when Ashi'ana was fully buffed.

Ok... so here is my recollection of the event. Ashi'ana clearly didn't want to return back to Q'os to continue the RP. She insisted she ported away safely.

Oh, thanks for posting this. I'm guessing there's room for reasonable disagreement, but it's nice to have one side of the story.

DM Saldo messaged me and said to roll with it. Too many RPs have transpired for us to reroll the event.

So, my thought on this is this:

Deny, deny, deny. We will deny and point the finger at Ashi'ana. It was supposed to be a friendly sparring session and she got overly aggressive with us three. She beat Nawen and Cain unconscious. She was unable to take out Keira. In her bloodlust rage, she confessed of planning to bring down the Morcane House and bring her Dev'Lin house to the top. Then, she ran off and pretended to look innocent and point finger at us.

This is a story I think we can roll with. It will be our words against her. Supposedly, only four of us (Rizzen, Nawen, Cain, and Keira), and Ashi'ana present at the inn. If she want to RP that Rizard was there, we can say he was her slave and an accomplice. They had planned to kill us from the start and pretended it to be a sparring session. She told him to hide in the shadow and pick his opportunity to strike. He did exactly as ordered and blatantly killed jabbress Nawen. How dare that jaluk!

*Keira walks in to voice her opinion*

This was a sparring session between Keira, Nawen, and Cain versus Ashi'ana. I was there. I talked and asked Ashi'ana personally and she GAVE us permission to spar. It was supposed to be between FOUR (yes, I am emphasizing on FOUR) of us.

As the sparring session progressed, everyone was using their abilities to the maximun so that it CAN BE a good sparring session. We did not want to half-ass at the sparring session. What's the point in that? We might as well not have the spar.

All of a sudden, a jaluk appeared and knocked Nawen unconscious! How dare that jaluk?! That was when our House wizard, Rizzen, got alarmed for the priestesses' lives and stepped in. He wanted to protect the priestesses from taking any more injuries. At that point, that was when Ashi'ana knocked him out too. She must have been battle-crazed and did not have control of herself. She went crazy and made no senze. That was when I thought "Uh oh, this is bad. This wasn't what was agreed upon. How dare that jaluk appeared and hit my dalninil?! Are they trying to kill us? That must be it!!! Ashi'ana must have double cross our agreement and sent in a Dev'Lin jaluk to kill us!!!"

And with that, I had to defend myself. I was not going to get killed by that wretched jaluk. Ashi'ana was aiding him by healing him and brought him back to consciousness after I had knocked him out. Therefore, I thought this was a Dev'Lin's attempt at assassinating the priestesses of Morcane. I had to retaliate and defend myself.
